Some info about me (updated)

I'm 28... and counting.... (Birthday: May 5)

A voracious reader... one of those people who reads to live, lives to read and needs to read (Don't think this will ever change)

A journalist by profession (again, I think a constant)

A Net junkie... discovered it in 1997 and have never looked back. I check my mail at least five times a day (ditto)

Single and ready to mingle (Update: Happily involved with someone and sublimely content)

Rather shy and also very bossy... a strange contradiction but true (hmm, I don't think I want to change this about me)

A bit too self-centred at times - this is an honest confession (Working on bettering this)

Prone to periods of utter laziness followed by spells of furious activity (I find this the only way to cope with the pace of life right now)

Hyper is how most people would describe me (though I think that's unfair)

Petite and be-spectacled (nearly blind as a bat without glasses)

Loves to shop, loves fashion (Why would I change this?)

Prefers dessert to any other kind of food, with occasional cravings for chaat and chips (Have cut down on chips, too unhealthy)

One of those people who can spot typos anywhere and get irritated by them (have stopped complaining aloud about this, most times at least)

Also one of those people who can't type message as msg in an SMS, but can in a chat window (not up for change)

Someone who loves the movies, and is very partial to watching them in a near-empty multiplex with a bag of mixed popcorn - half salted, half caramel (yum, still my fav pasttime, although now with my new DVD, I do this at home - minus the popcorn but something as yummy)

Someone who dreams of living life on her own terms someday (Rant: When will this happen?)

Cynic's corner

I will admit that the following verse by Dorothy Parker - she of the 'men don't make passes at girls who have glasses' fame (not true, girl!!) - is horribly cynical, but I also will acknowledge that it's brilliant - which is why it's here.
Read on, reader....

By the time you swear you're his,
Shivering and sighing,
And he vows his passion is Infinite, undying -
Lady, make a note of this:
One of you is lying.

Good, no?? I told you so...
